The Books I Read - February 2026

Here are the 11 books I read in February. I have put off working on this one for a while, so I’m guessing my book notes will be short this month.
Check out my various pages for ⭐️ ratings of these books:
- Fable (Newer site, but you can give 1/4 star ratings)
- Goodreads (I’ve use this one for years and not ready to give it up)
- The StoryGraph (Woman-owned and a more simplified site, but shows lots of stats if you like those)
I hope you find something that looks interesting to you. Below are a few notes on the books this month.
Total books for the year: 23
- 🎧 Show Me A Sign - Ann Clare LeZotte - I was really excited about this one, but it took place farther in the past than I had expected.
- 🎧 Accidentally Yours - Christina Lauren
- 🎧⭐️ Time Will Tell - Hannah Bonam-Young
- 🎧 Second Act Romance - Julie Soto
- 🎧⭐️ A Play For Love - Trilina Pucci
- 🎧⭐️ Death To Valentine’s Day - Catherine Cowles
- 🎧 Valentine’s Slay - Navessa Allen - Books 2-7 were all part of an Amazon Originals Short Stories collection. This particular set was “Improbable Meet-Cute Second Chances”. I really enjoyed a few of them and a couple I thought I would like more than I did. These are fun little stories when you need a quick read and I love that they are written by familiar authors. I frequently find new authors I enjoy and look for more books written by them after these short stories. There are a ton of these in their collection and most of them you can read/listen for free if you have a prime account.
- 🎧 The Shape Of Lost Things - Sarah Everett - This was a sweet book and I was totally drawn to the cover because of the puzzle pieces on the front. I found this one while I was subbing in the middle school library. Everett also wrote “The Probability of Everything” that I really enjoyed. Good read for middle schoolers.
- 🎧⭐️❤️ The Dreamers - Karen Thompson Walker - I came across this book at The Irreverent Bookworm when I was there with a friend. She bought the book and then handed it off to me. I loved it so much. It was a bit dystopian where people fall asleep and don’t wake up. It was creative and fascinating and just the weird kind of read I really love.
- 📖 The Taking Of Room 114 - Mel Glenn - I found this at the middle school as well. It’s a book in verse told in various perspectives, some over different years of High School. It was a uniquely written book about a teacher who holds students hostage. It wasn’t wuite what I expected, but I enjoyed it because of the ending, the unique writing for each person and all the various topics the short sections touched on.
- 📱🎨 Two Tribes - Emily Bowen - You won’t believe it, but also found this one at the middle school. One of my best friends is Indigenous and I have been reading more Indigenous books. This was about a girl who is indigenous and Jewish and she is trying to figure out how to be both instead of either. I felt like it was too simplified for my liking, but I think younger readers would relate better to it.
